Jeep accident in Dhankuta leaves 21 injured, 4 seriously



DHANKUTA: Twenty-one people were injured in a Bolero jeep accident on the inner gravel road in Tekunala, Dhankuta Municipality-8.

According to police, the Bolero (registration Ko 2 Cha 2309), traveling from Tekunala towards Dhankuta, lost control and overturned around 10:35 am on Sunday.

The District Police Office, Dhankuta, reported that four of the injured—Renuka Rai (45), Jit Bahadur Rai (38), Harkalal Rai (90), and Gunaraj Shrestha (62)—have been referred to other facilities for further treatment.

The remaining 17 injured are receiving treatment at Dhankuta District Hospital. Among them are Chaturlal Dangol, Ronita Shrestha, Rima Dangol, Rajan Rai, Nishu Limbu, Ram Shrestha, Mohan Dangol, Sabina Dangol, and another Rima Dangol.

Police said all the injured were on their way to Dhankuta Bazaar to participate in the Lakhe festival. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident.
