KATHMANDU: The 63rd Grace List of Tribhuvan University has been approved, recognizing a total of 89,191 students who passed various levels and faculties under the university system this year.
The decision was made during TU’s annual general assembly, chaired by Prime Minister and Chancellor KP Sharma Oli, at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Thursday. The list was presented by Registrar Prof. Dr. Kedar Prasad Rijal and approved by the assembly.
During the meeting, the budget and program for the fiscal year 2025/26 was also presented.
Chancellor Oli stressed the need to transform the university into a competitive and capable institution aligned with the demands of the 21st century. He stressed that TU should lead in producing skilled human resources who can contribute globally.
Deputy Chancellor and Minister for Education, Science and Technology Raghuraj Pant highlighted the role of education in achieving the national aspiration of “Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali.” He urged the university to align its programs and reforms accordingly.
Newly appointed Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Deepak Aryal proposed an ambitious goal of increasing international student enrollment.
He stated that the university should aim to ensure that at least one percent of the total student population—approximately 4,000 students—are international students in the coming years.
The meeting also discussed strategic reforms to strengthen TU’s academic standards, global competitiveness, and institutional autonomy.
