Chasing a modest target of 101 runs set by Hong Kong, Nepal managed to score only 98 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Captain Indu Barma top-scored for Nepal with 32 runs but was dismissed on the final ball of the 19th over.

With 10 runs needed off the last over, Nepal could only add 7, falling agonizingly short of victory.

Earlier, after opting to bat first, Hong Kong posted 100 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Captain Natasha Miles led the scoring with 35 runs, while Mariko Hill added 21.
