Four youths arrested for assaulting police officer in Tanahun



KATHMANDU: Four youths have been arrested for assaulting a police officer in Manangkot, a popular tourist destination in Byas Municipality-5.

The incident took place at around 2 am on Saturday when police constable Sunil Karki, stationed at the temporary police post in Manangkot, was attacked.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ashok Thapa informed that the arrested individuals have been identified as Roshan Gurung, James Gurung, and Sujal Gurung from Byas-4, and Sudip BK from Byas-1.

The police officers deployed for security were reportedly assaulted following a clash in the area.

The court extended the remand of the accused by five days on Sunday as the investigation into the case of indecent behavior continues, DSP Thapa stated.
