KATHMANDU: The National Assembly under the Federal Parliament is set to convene today at 1:15 pm at the Parliament Building, New Baneshwor.

The key agenda of the meeting includes a proposal by Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, to initiate discussions on the ‘Media Council Bill, 2024’ along with the report of the Legislative Management Committee.

Following the discussion, Minister Gurung will also present a proposal to pass the ‘Media Council Bill, 2024’. The bill is expected to generate significant debate as it seeks to regulate and oversee media operations in the country.

The meeting is likely to draw attention from lawmakers, media stakeholders, and the public, given the bill’s potential impact on press freedom and media governance in Nepal.
