Voter registration heats up (Photos)

KATHMANDU: With just seven days remaining to register for the voter list ahead of the House of Representatives elections on March 5, 2026, the District Election Office in Kathmandu has witnessed enthusiastic public participation.

Although minor crowding occurred due to temporary server issues, registrants reported that the process was quick and hassle-free.

Ankit Baralka, a first-time voter, said she was excited to register her name on the voter list. “I believe the next leadership should be young people. I am a Gen-Z member, and I am ready to vote,” she added. She also mentioned that despite the server problems, she did not have to wait in line for long.

Srijana Rayamajhi, Information Officer at the office, noted that the server pressure has increased because voter registration is being conducted simultaneously across all 77 districts.
