Protesters seize all three branches of govt

KATHMANDU: In a historic and unprecedented escalation, protesters have reportedly taken control of Nepal’s three branches of government during Tuesday’s Gen-Z demonstrations. Demonstrators occupied key government offices, targeting the executive, legislative, and judicial branches.

During the afternoon, protesters entered central ministries at Singha Durbar, setting fire and causing extensive damage. The Parliament building in Baneshwor was also set ablaze, while the Supreme Court experienced vandalism.

Authorities have struggled to regain control as protesters continue to move through government and political sites across the capital, escalating tensions and raising concerns over the stability of state institutions.
