Protesters breach ministers’ residence in Bhaisepati

KATHMANDU: Demonstrators broke into the federal ministers’ residential complex in Bhaisepati, Lalitpur, on Tuesday after learning that Nepal Army helicopters had arrived to evacuate the ministers.

Eyewitnesses reported that three helicopters had arrived at the Bhaisepati complex. Upon seeing the helicopters, protesters forced open the gates and entered the residence.

The Bhaisepati complex, built two years ago to replace the smaller Pulchowk ministerial residence, houses federal ministers as well as provincial chief ministers. The ministers were evacuated by the army to a secure location.
