NC President Deuba’s residence vandalized

KATHMANDU: Protesters vandalized the residence of Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba on Tuesday, amid intensifying demonstrations in the capital.

The agitated crowd reportedly broke through the main gate and entered Deuba’s house in Budhanilkantha despite security efforts to contain the situation.

In a separate incident, the residence of Congress leader and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak was set on fire in Naikap, Kathmandu.

Protesters have been targeting political leaders’ homes in response to what they describe as excessive force and repression during the recent Gen Z-led protests.

The situation remains tense, with heightened security across several areas of the capital.
