Indefinite curfew imposed in Bhaktapur



BHAKTAPUR: The District Administration Office (DAO) Bhaktapur has issued an indefinite curfew order effective from 8:30 am Tuesday.

The order prohibits all movement, gatherings, rallies, demonstrations, assemblies, meetings, and sit-ins within designated areas of Madhyapur Thimi, Suryabinayak, and Bhaktapur municipalities.

Areas under curfew include:

  • Jadibuti–Radheradhe–Balkot Nikosera and Pepsi Cola areas
  • Jadibuti to Sanga along the Araniko Highway (200 meters on either side), and from Manohara Bridge in Pepsi Cola to Nikosera Chowk
  • Kaushaltar to Balkot Chowk via Rose Village up to Chardobato Chowk
  • Radheradhe Chowk to Nikosera Chowk
  • Bakhabazar to Chardobato Chowk via Nepal-Korea Friendship Hospital
  • Sallaghari to Nagarkot area via Kamalbinayak and Kharipati
  • Chyamasingh to Nala via Tathali (up to Kavre district border)
  • Duwakot Mode to Nepal Engineering College area
  • Dekocha to Changu Narayan temple area

Authorities said the curfew order was necessary to maintain peace and security amid ongoing unrest linked to youth-led demonstrations.
