Floodlight towers arrive for TU Cricket Ground upgrade

KATHMANDU: The much-anticipated floodlight towers for the TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur have finally arrived in Kathmandu on Wednesday, marking a major step in the ongoing upgrade of the stadium.

The towers, imported from Uttar Pradesh, India, were transported over a period of nine days and are currently placed outside the cricket stadium awaiting installation. These towers will enable night matches at the venue for the first time.

The project, which includes parapet expansion and floodlight installation, is being implemented by BKOI-KCDC-BG JV at a total cost of Rs 437.7 million.

Installation work is expected to begin soon, as the stadium prepares to host higher-standard games with improved infrastructure.
