Teenage girl allegedly raped on her way back from school in Kailali



DHANGADHI: A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped in Dhangadhi, Kailali.

The girl was allegedly raped by an 18-year-old man living in the Punaro Bhansar area of Dhangadhi on Thursday evening, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kabindra Singh Bohara, spokesperson for the District Police Office.

The girl, originally from Bajura, had been staying with a relative in Dhangadhi to pursue her studies.

While returning home from school, the youth blocked the road and forced her into his house while threatening her with a knife, police said.

Police are searching for the man, who fled after the incident.

The victim only reported the incident to the police on Saturday.

DSP Bohara mentioned that the police were informed about the incident after her relatives were notified. The girl is studying in Grade 7 at a school in Dhangadhi.
