KATHMANDU: The Nepal Samajbadi Party is holding its first general convention from today (Sunday).
All preparations are complete for the event, which will run from February 9 to 11.
Hisila Yami, the Coordinator of the Convention Management Committee, stated that as many as 1,500 delegates will participate in the convention, which will take place at the Nepal Academy in Kamaladi.
Yami stated that the convention will focus on making the organization more inclusive in line with the Constitution, alongside political practice and party building. It will also emphasize promoting intra-party democracy.
The convention will elect 11 new office bearers and 99 central committee members.
The party expressed optimism that the event will pave the way for cooperation with alternative and progressive political forces.
