KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) experienced a decline on Thursday, marking a shift after continuous growth since the beginning of 2025.

NEPSE dropped by 18.14 points, closing at 2,635.09.

Despite the drop in index, trading activity saw a rise, with a total turnover of Rs 7.3 billion with 157,23,379 shares being traded and 73,309 transactions made throughout the day.

While 55 companies saw an increase in their share prices, 180 companies experienced a decline. Seven companies had stable share prices.

Notably, the Finance sector witnessed the biggest drop, with a decrease of 2.93 percent, while the Mutual Fund sector saw a smaller decline of 0.21 percent. On the other hand, the Hotel and Tourism sector gained 0.99 percent, closing at 6,696.35 points.

In other notable movements, two companies saw positive circuit breakers, while one company, Sapta Koshi Development Bank, experienced a negative circuit.
