No need to please ministers anymore for business purposes: Home Minister

KATHMANDU: Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has said that businesspersons no longer need to please or appease ministers to get their work done under the current government.

Speaking at a program organized by the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) in Kathmandu on Friday, Minister Aryal urged entrepreneurs to freely point out the government’s weaknesses and areas for improvement.

“There is no need to please ministers now,” Aryal said. “You can openly evaluate our work, how ministers used to function before and how they function now, and point out where improvements are needed.”

He also assured the private sector of strengthened security guarantees and said that the government is preparing a special strategy to boost business confidence.

Referring to the post-movement situation, Aryal said the government has started addressing complaints related to private sector challenges. “The government is committed to strengthening the private sector, which forms the foundation of our economy,” he stated.

Sharing recent law enforcement data, he said, “Out of 14,549 escaped prisoners, 9,521 have been brought back to jail, while 5,105 are still at large. A total of 710 firearms have been recovered. We will launch a special operation to recover the remaining weapons and fugitives, and we urge citizens to cooperate.”

Minister Aryal also pledged that the government will introduce additional plans in the coming days to ensure the safety and security of entrepreneurs and business establishments.
