NC expresses sorrow over the demise of former minister Alam



KATHMANDU: The Central Working Committee of the Nepali Congress has expressed sorrow over the demise of former minister Mohammad Aftab Alam and passed a condolence motion.

The meeting held on Saturday at the party’s central office in Sanepa passed the condolence proposal in memory of the late Alam.

As a mark of respect, the Central Working Committee meeting scheduled for Kartik 23 has been postponed to Kartik 25. The party has also decided to fly flags at half-mast at central, provincial, and district offices on Kartik 22, 23, and 24; close all offices

on Kartik 23, and keep condolence books for 13 days.

Aftab Alam, 63, former central committee member, minister, and Rautahat district president of the Nepali Congress, passed away while undergoing treatment at Kathmandu Medical College in Sinamangal. He began his political career in 2036 BS through the Nepal Students Union and served multiple times as minister during his long political journey.
