Maoist Centre instructs cadres to focus on voter list update



KATHMANDU: The CPN (Maoist Centre) has directed its party ranks at all levels to actively coordinate with local election offices and take part in the voter list update process ahead of the upcoming elections.

In a circular issued by Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, coordinator of the party’s General Convention Organizing Committee, cadres have been urged to ensure that citizens who have reached 16 years of age by Kartik 30 are included in the voter list. The circular also calls for necessary updates in cases of marriage, migration, or errors in name, date of birth, or other details.

“The update of the voter list is the first step in democratic practice,” the circular reads. “All party members must take this task seriously and coordinate effectively to facilitate the process.”
