Home Ministry collects details of Gen Z protests across the country



KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs is gathering information on incidents that occurred during Monday’s Gen Z protests in Kathmandu and other parts of the country.

Spokesperson Anand Kafle said that the collection of details is underway, and so far, police have reported 19 deaths and around 200 injuries.

Following the escalation of the protests, curfews have been imposed in sensitive areas of Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Rupandehi, and Kaski districts. Injured protesters are receiving treatment at various hospitals, and authorities are documenting the damage caused during the demonstrations.

Police reported that protesters set fire to government buildings and vehicles in Kathmandu and other areas, and over 40 demonstrators have been arrested in the capital.
