Tension remains in Baneshwor as Gen-Z protesters clash with police

KATHMANDU: The Baneshwor area of Kathmandu remains tense as protests by Gen-Z demonstrators continue, despite the crowd dispersing in parts.

Protesters have been staging demonstrations at key intersections leading out of Baneshwor, with reports of fires set in some areas.

A large contingent of police has been deployed to control the situation. Security forces have reportedly used tear gas and batons to disperse protesters, and some instances of baton charges against pedestrians have also been reported.

Authorities continue to monitor the area closely as tensions remain high, and residents have been urged to exercise caution while moving around Baneshwor.
