KATHMANDU: Following violent Gen-Z protests, hospitals are facing a severe shortage of blood to treat injured demonstrators. Most of the injured have been taken to the Civil Service Hospital and the Trauma Centre.
Medical staff report that the blood supply is critically low across the Kathmandu Valley. At the Trauma Centre, the shortage is so severe that protesters have taken to the streets outside, appealing to the public for blood donations to help their injured friends.
Currently, 50 protesters are undergoing treatment in Bir, and the Trauma Centre has confirmed that six protesters have died during treatment. The majority of fatalities occurred at the Trauma Centre itself.
