Nepali Congress calls emergency meeting



KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) has called an emergency meeting today. Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba scheduled the meeting for 5 PM, according to Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel.

Earlier today, Gen-Z protesters demonstrated in Kathmandu and several other cities across the country, voicing strong opposition to the social media ban and widespread corruption.

Following a morning meeting with President Deuba, General Secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwaprakash Sharma urged him to take the Gen-Z movement seriously and to speak with the Prime Minister about lifting the social media ban. So far, 14 people have died in the ongoing protests.
