Nepali Army deployed as Gen-Z protest turns violent in New Baneshwor



KATHMANDU: Security forces have deployed the army in New Baneshwor after a Gen-Z protest escalated into violence.

Earlier, the Kathmandu District Administration Office had imposed a curfew in New Baneshwor, Bijulibazar, and Central Baneshwor areas. Police reportedly fired shots at protesters when the demonstration went out of control, injuring several participants.

Protesters have now entered the Parliament building premises, continuing to chant slogans. Authorities have intensified security to regain control of the situation.
