RSP to launch campaign for voting rights of Nepalis abroad, expand signature drive in support of Rabi Lamichhane

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has decided to launch a campaign urging the government to ensure voting rights for Nepali citizens living abroad.

According to party spokesperson Manish Jha, the decision was made during the party’s central committee meeting held at its Baneshwor office on Friday. The campaign aims to draw the serious attention of the government and relevant authorities to the issue of enfranchising the diaspora.

The meeting also decided to make nationwide and more effective the public signature drive in support of party chair Rabi Lamichhane, which the RSP claims is in response to politically motivated actions against him. The central committee resolved to integrate this campaign with all ongoing organizational activities.

Similarly, the meeting decided to reinstate Ishramulla Miya, a founding central member who had resigned from the position after being appointed chair of the Hajj Committee, back into the central committee.

The party also agreed to form a strategic group to oversee various planned initiatives and to mobilize all central committee and department members across districts to strengthen and empower the organization from the ward level up to the federal level.
