Nepal’s fixture announced for Top End T20 Series in Australia

KATHMANDU: The Nepal national cricket team’s match schedule for the upcoming Australian Top-End T20 series has been officially released.

Nepal will play a total of six matches in the tournament.

The team’s opening game is set for August 15 against the local Northern Territory Strike. Their second match will be against Bangladesh A on August 16. On August 18, Nepal will face the Melbourne Stars.

The fourth match is scheduled for August 19 against the Hobart Hurricanes, followed by a game against the Melbourne Renegades on August 20.

Nepal’s final league match will be against the Pakistan Shaheens on August 22 at 3:15 PM local time.

Apart from Nepal, the tournament includes teams like Pakistan Shaheens (Pakistan A), Bangladesh A, and the Chicago Kingsmen from the USA.

Additionally, five academy teams from Australia’s Big Bash League will participate: Hobart Hurricanes, Perth Scorchers, Adelaide Strikers, Melbourne Stars, Melbourne Renegades, as well as the ACT Comets and the local NT Strike team.

The league stage will see the top four teams advance to the semifinals, followed by the final. If Nepal reaches the final, the team will play a total of eight matches.

This year’s series has expanded significantly from last year’s five teams to a total of eleven teams competing.

Nepal is using this tournament as preparation for the ICC T20 World Cup Asia and East Asia Pacific qualifiers scheduled for October.
