Chief Justice administers oath to three Supreme Court justices



KATHMANDU: Chief Justice (CJ) Prakash Man Singh Raut administered the oath of office and secrecy to three newly appointed Supreme Court (SC) justices today.

Chief Justice Raut administered the oath to justices Meghraj Pokharel, Shrikant Poudel, and Shantisingh Thapa at a ceremony held at the Supreme Court.

President Ram Chandra Poudel appointed them on Monday following their endorsement by the Parliamentary Hearing Committee, based on the recommendation of the Judicial Council.

With the swearing-in completed, the three justices have officially assumed office.

Meanwhile, Chief Justice Raut also administered the oath of office and secrecy to Mahesh Kumar Nepal, the newly appointed member of the Judicial Council. As chairperson of the council, the Chief Justice conducted the swearing-in ceremony for member Nepal.
