Prime Minister Oli inspects construction at TU Cricket Ground

KATHMANDU:  Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli visited the Tribhuvan University cricket ground in Kirtipur today to inspect the ongoing construction of international-standard parapets and floodlights.

This inspection comes nearly a year after Oli, upon assuming office, made one of his first official decisions on July 15, pledging to complete the parapet and floodlight installation within 300 days, giving the project high priority.

During the visit, PM Oli was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Prakash Man Singh, Urban Development Ministry Secretary Gopal Prasad Sigdel, and officials from the Federal Secretariat and Project Implementation Office, including Chief Chakrabarti Kantha. Contractors involved in the project briefed the Prime Minister on current progress.

Earlier, on May 5, Oli had summoned concerned officials and contractors to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar to review progress and instructed them to complete the work within the next two months.

Separate contracts for the parapet and floodlight installation were signed on January 3 and January 6 respectively with different construction companies.
