Nepal experiencing influence of westerly and local winds



KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has said that Nepal is currently experiencing the influence of westerly and local winds, along with partial effects from moisture-laden air entering from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea.

According to the Division, skies are currently partly to generally cloudy across the country, with light rain occurring in some hilly areas.

By this afternoon, hilly regions are expected to remain partly to generally cloudy, while the rest of the country will see mainly clear to partly cloudy conditions.

There is a likelihood of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in several hilly areas, particularly in Koshi and Sudurpaschim provinces, and in isolated parts of the rest of the country. Light rain or snowfall is also possible at a few places in the Himalayan region.

Tonight, the hilly areas will remain partly cloudy, while the weather in other parts of the country will be mostly clear to partly cloudy. Isolated hilly areas may see light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning.
