Implement women related constitutional rights through laws’



KATHMANDU: Women leaders of different political parties have called for implementing the constitutional rights of women by formulating laws.

The speakers said this at an interaction organized here today by the organizations close to different political parties on the occasion of the 115th International Women’s Day.

They demanded early formulation of the necessary laws to implement women related constitutional provisions, including Article 38, 70, 84, 91 and 92.

Among the women leaders articulating the voice were Amrita Thapa Magar, Bandhu Chand, Jayanti Rai and Mina Pun.

According to the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizen, women’s participation is 34 percent in the federal parliament; 36 percent in province assemblies and 41 percent in local level.

Currently, there is around 28 percent women representation in civil service.
