Chandra Dhakal: Pathibhara cable car will create jobs for Taplejung residents

KATHMANDU: Chandra Prasad Dhakal, president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), has stated that local residents largely support the construction of the Pathibhara Cable Car.

Speaking at a press conference organized by Pathibhara Devi Darshan Cable Car Pvt. Ltd. in Kathmandu on Saturday, Dhakal mentioned that out of 25 local representatives who spoke at a public hearing involving 300 people, only two expressed disagreement.

He emphasized that most residents of Taplejung favor the project, while opposition primarily comes from those living outside the district or abroad, who would still benefit from the development.

Dhakal highlighted that the cable car will boost economic activity and generate employment in Taplejung. He stated that the project aims to prioritize job opportunities for local residents, with 80% of the 300 anticipated jobs being allocated to people from Taplejung.
