Samajbadi Party to hold first general convention on Sunday

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Samajbadi Party (Naya Shakti) is all set to hold its first general convention from Sunday. All preparatory works are over for the event being held from February 9 to 11.

Coordinator of general convention management committee, Hisila Yami, shared that a total of 1,500 delegates will be participating in the event. The convention is taking place at Nepal Academy, Kamaladi.

Coordinator Yami shared at a press meet that the political jamboree would dwell on how the organization could be made more inclusive as per constitution along with political practice and party building. It would also foster intra-party democracy.

The convention would elect 11 new office bearers with 99 central members.

The party expressed hope that it would forge cooperation with alternative and progressive political forces.
