KATHMANDU: Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), Pradeep Adhikari, has been remanded to custody for trial.
In the corruption case filed by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) against Adhikari and six others, the Special Court on Sunday ordered that Adhikari be placed in judicial custody.
Court spokesperson Yagyaraj Regmi stated that the court also ordered Murari Bhandari to be released on a bail of Rs 500,000.
The case was filed on charges of corruption during the construction of the Nalinchok Helipad in Bhaktapur, with a claimed loss of Rs 135.7 million.
