Bhairav Temple constructed in Pokhara



POKHARA: A new Bhairav Temple, reflecting the ancient Newari civilization and culture of the Kathmandu Valley, has been constructed in Bhairavtol, Pokhara, at a cost of Rs 17 million 88 thousand 615.

According to the Bhairav Cultural Conservation Committee, a stone statue of Kalbhairav will be installed in the temple on November 12 through traditional Tantric rituals.

Committee Chairman Tirthaman Pradhananga stated that with the migration of the Newar community to Pokhara, efforts have been made to preserve and promote their cultural heritage.

The community has continued traditional practices from the Kathmandu Valley, including Gana Nritya (the Twelve Bhairav Dance), bhajans, and various Newari religious rituals.
