Nepali cricket team undergoes fitness test ahead of Top End T20 Series in Australia



KATHMANDU: The Nepali national cricket team underwent a fitness and physical assessment on Thursday ahead of the upcoming Top End T20 Series scheduled to take place in Darwin, Australia, from August 14 to 24.

The tests were conducted at the Sports Science and Research Centre & High Performance Centre in Satdobato on Thursday morning.

The 16-member squad includes: Rohit Paudel (Captain), Dipendra Singh Airee (Vice-captain), Sandeep Lamichhane, Kushal Bhurtel, Asif Sheikh, Kushal Malla, Gulshan Jha, Arif Sheikh, Bhim Sharki, Rupesh Kumar Singh, Sompal Kami, Nandan Kumar Yadav, Karan KC, Rijon Dhakal, Lokesh Bam, and Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi.

Nepal is participating in the tournament alongside ten other teams, with six group-stage matches scheduled for the national side.

The Top End T20 Series is part of Nepal’s preparation for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia and East Asia-Pacific Qualifiers, set for October. Nepal is also scheduled to play a T20I series against the West Indies in September as part of its busy pre-qualifier calendar.
