President lauds rising cricket craze and Nepal’s U-16 victory



KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has praised the growing passion for cricket among Nepalis and commended the recent achievements of the national players, describing them as a result of unwavering dedication and hard work.

While felicitating the victorious Nepali team of the ACC U-16 East Zone Cup at Sheetal Niwas, President Paudel said that Nepal’s triumph in the final match against Singapore had elevated the nation’s dignity and international standing.

He highlighted that such sporting successes reflect the players’ discipline and commitment and are a source of pride for the country.

“Winning the ACC U-16 East Zone Cup has enhanced the image of both Nepal and Nepalis,” the President said.

He further highlighted the importance of refining and expanding traditional sports and bringing them onto international platforms. He stated that with proper development and promotion, sports can contribute significantly to national prestige.

The President also stressed the need to strengthen domestic sports infrastructure and increase training and competitions in order to produce skilled athletes capable of competing globally. “We must focus on producing competent players through enhanced training and better infrastructure,” he said.
