NEW DELHI: Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief Masood Azhar has confirmed that 10 members of his family and four close associates were killed in Indian air strikes carried out under ‘Operation Sindoor’, Indian media reports said on Wednesday.
The operation, which involved targeted attacks on nine terror-linked locations across Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir, included a strike on the JeM headquarters, Markaz Subhan Allah, in Bahawalpur.
In a statement, Azhar said the attack on the Bahawalpur compound led to the deaths of his elder sister and her husband, a nephew and his wife, a niece, and several others close to him.
He lashed out at Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating, “This cruelty has broken all boundaries. Now, no one should expect mercy.”
The Indian Air Force’s coordinated strikes also targeted facilities associated with other banned terror groups, including Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen, according to official sources.
