PM Oli convenes cabinet meeting following return from BIMSTEC summit

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called a cabinet meeting today, the first since his return from the BIMSTEC summit held in Thailand.

The meeting will take place at 3 pm at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar.

According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, the meeting is of a routine nature, but sources indicate that the government may make a decision regarding the appointment of a new governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB).

The top position at the central bank has remained vacant since the end of Maha Prasad Adhikari’s term on Thursday, leaving a key leadership post open at a crucial financial institution.

While no official agenda has been disclosed, government insiders suggest that the cabinet may prioritize filling the vacancy at NRB, given its importance to monetary and financial governance.
