Communications Minister claims land ordinance will be passed after ruling parties’ discussions

KATHMANDU: Minister for Communications Prithvi Subba Gurung has stated that the land ordinance brought by the government will be passed following discussions among the ruling parties.

Gurung explained that the land ordinance had been temporarily stalled due to the need for further discussions and a detailed consensus among the ruling parties.

He said that while the ordinance is pending, it is not lost and will be passed within the 60-day constitutional timeframe.

He noted that out of the six ordinances issued by the government two weeks prior to the parliament’s start, five have already been passed by both the House of Representatives and the National Assembly. However, the land ordinance still requires more deliberations and consensus from the ruling parties before it can be finalized.
