KATHMANDU: Nepal was defeated in the final match, as Thailand clinched the title of the Triangular Women’s International Twenty20 Series 2025 by beating Nepal by 7 wickets in Friday.
Thailand emerged as champions, finishing just 2 points behind the Netherlands in the triple round-robin series format.
Despite sweeping Nepal in their matches, Thailand accumulated 10 points from 6 games. Nepal, on the other hand, ended the series without a single victory.
In the match held at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground on Friday, Thailand chased down the modest target of 83 runs set by Nepal, reaching the target with ease in 17 overs for the loss of 3 wickets.
Thailand’s captain, Naruemol Chaiwai, led the way with a top score of 27 runs off 34 balls, including two fours.
Nannapat Kanchoroenkai contributed 23 runs, while opener Nataya Boochatham added 11 runs to the tally.
For Nepal, captain Indu Barma claimed two wickets, and Pooja Mahato took one wicket.
Earlier, Nepal, having won the toss and elected to bat, posted a modest total of 81 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their 20 overs.
With this defeat, Nepal finishes the series without securing a win.
