Four-hour power cut in key Kathmandu areas as NEA resumes underground line work

KATHMANDU: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has announced scheduled power cuts in several key areas of Kathmandu today, including Pashupatinath, Tribhuvan International Airport vicinity, Mitrapark and Battisputali.

According to NEA’s Baneshwor Distribution Center, the outage will take place from 8 AM to 12 PM as part of the ongoing Underground and Strengthening Distribution System Project.

Electricity supply will remain suspended in the Mitrapark–Pashupati College area, Airport feeder sections covering the Sewerage KIVAS Project zone up to the Airport Army Barracks, and Battisputali feeder areas from Chabahil Dirghayu Hospital through Jayabageshwari to Pashupatinath Temple.

Similarly, under the New Chabahil–Naya Basti feeder, power will be cut from 7 AM to 8 AM in locations stretching from Chabahil Chowk and Gaurighat Chowk to the entire Naya Basti area, NEA said.

The Authority apologized for the inconvenience to consumers, stating that regular power supply will resume earlier if the scheduled works are completed ahead of time.
