NPL 2025: Two matches scheduled for today

KATHMANDU: Two matches will be played today in the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) in the capital.

In the first match, Sudurpaschim Royals will take on Biratnagar Kings at 11:15 a.m. at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Stadium. The second match, starting at 3:30 p.m., will feature Chitwan Rhinos against Pokhara Avengers.

Sudurpaschim, unbeaten so far, has already secured a spot in the first qualifier with 12 points from six matches and will play without pressure. Biratnagar, meanwhile, is safely in the playoffs with eight points but needs a win today, preferably with a strong net run rate, to join Sudurpaschim in the first qualifier.

Otherwise, Biratnagar will play an eliminator against Lumbini Lions. Sudurpaschim will then meet Kathmandu Gorkhaz in the first qualifier. In the afternoon match, Chitwan and Pokhara, both out of playoff contention with four points each from six games, will play for pride.
