NRB publishes today’s foreign currency exchange rates



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has published today’s foreign exchange rates. The buying rate for one US dollar has been set at Rs 143.68, while the selling rate stands at Rs 144.28.

Similarly, one European euro is being bought at Rs 167.34 and sold at Rs 168.04. The buying rate for one UK pound sterling is Rs 191.55, with the selling rate at Rs 192.35; and the Swiss franc is valued at Rs 178.83 for buying and Rs 179.58 for selling.

The Australian dollar is being bought at Rs 95.29 and sold at Rs 95.69, while the Canadian dollar’s buying and selling rates are Rs 103.06 and Rs 103.49, respectively. The buying rate for one Singapore dollar is Rs 110.91 and the selling rate is Rs 111.37.

Among Asian currencies, the buying rate for 10 Japanese yen is Rs 9.26 and the selling rate is Rs 9.30. One Chinese yuan is being bought at Rs 20.32 and sold at Rs 20.41. The Saudi Arabian riyal stands at Rs 38.29 (buying) and Rs 38.44 (selling), while the Qatari riyal is priced at Rs 39.42 for buying and Rs 39.58 for selling.

According to the central bank, the buying rate for one Thai baht is Rs 4.51 and the selling rate is Rs 4.53; one UAE dirham is priced at Rs 39.12 (buying) and Rs 39.28 (selling). The Malaysian ringgit is being bought at Rs 34.95 and sold at Rs 35.10.

Likewise, one hundred South Korean won is valued at Rs 9.75 (buying) and Rs 9.79 (selling). The Swedish krona stands at Rs 15.26 for buying and Rs 15.33 for selling, while the Danish krone is being bought at Rs 22.41 and sold at Rs 22.50.

Nepal Rastra Bank has set the buying rate for one Hong Kong dollar at Rs 18.46 and the selling rate at Rs 18.53. One Kuwaiti dinar is priced at Rs 468.14 (buying) and Rs 470.09 (selling); one Bahraini dinar at Rs 381.14 and Rs 382.73; and one Omani rial at Rs 373.19 and Rs 374.75. The exchange rate for one hundred Indian rupees has been set at Rs 160 for buying and Rs 160.15 for selling.

The central bank noted that these rates may be revised as needed, and commercial banks may quote slightly different rates. Updated figures are available on Nepal Rastra Bank’s website.
