Babaram Bhattarai holds talks with political groups to build alternative political force

KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai on Thursday held discussions with the Rastriya Swatantra Party and other political groups to explore the formation of a credible alternative political force.

According to sources, the talks focused on restructuring the political landscape in line with the developments following the Gen-Z protests and creating a new axis of alternative politics.

The discussion brought together leaders from multiple groups, including DP Aryal, acting chair of the Rastriya Swatantra Party; Durga Sob, acting president of Nepal Samajwadi Naya Shakti; Janardan Sharma and Sudan Kiranti from the Pragatisheel Abhiyan; and representatives from the Ujyalo Nepal Abhiyan, among others.

Participants emphasized the need for collaboration across parties to strengthen a reliable alternative political platform capable of addressing public concerns raised during the Gen-Z movement.

The talks are part of ongoing efforts by Bhattarai to consolidate like-minded groups and leaders under a shared political vision, aiming to influence national politics with a focus on inclusive governance and public accountability.
