Bagmati Province Cabinet recommends convening Provincial Assembly meeting



HETAUDA: The Bagmati Province Council of Ministers has decided to recommend that Province Chief Deepak Prasad Devkota convene a meeting of the Provincial Assembly on May 19.

The meeting also approved the posting and transfer of five provincial secretaries. Baikuntha Adhikari has been assigned to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Hemraj Bhusal to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Land and Administration, and Jhalakram Adhikari to the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Similarly, Binu Bajracharya, who was serving in the Ministry of Land and Administration, has been transferred to the Ministry of Social Development, while Purna Bahadur Darji, previously working in the Provincial Assembly Secretariat, will now serve in the Ministry of Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation.

Likewise, Ram Prasad Rijal of Nuwakot has been appointed as a member of the Bagmati Province University Conservation Committee (Board of Trustees), and Chandramani Poudel, President of Bagmati Province University, has been appointed to the Province Higher Education Council.

In addition, the cabinet authorized a budget of Rs 10 million to establish a disaster volunteer group in coordination with local governments, aiming to enhance emergency response capacity.

The meeting also approved the Financial Equalization Grant Program for the upcoming fiscal year 2025/26.
