Paddy production increases in Tanahun



DAMAULI: Paddy production has increased in Tanahun this year, according to the Agricultural Development Office. The district recorded a total output of 35,422 metric tons of rice.

Various rice varieties, including Savitri, Ram, Sukka 3, Makawanpur 1, Sawa Mansuli, Kalo Masino, and the hybrid Barnashankar, were cultivated across 8,512 hectares of land. In the previous fiscal year, the district had produced 33,292 metric tons from 8,120 hectares.

Information Officer Kiran Pariyar told RSS that 13,551 hectares of cultivable land in the district remain barren. Irrigation facilities are available in 6,347 hectares, while 7,236 hectares have access to seasonal irrigation. He added that recent unseasonal rains caused losses amounting to Rs 10 million.
