One killed in tipper accident in Kavrepalanchowk



KAVREPALANCHOWK: An accident occurred this morning at Kodari Bhir in Mandandeupur Municipality-6, when a tipper plunged about 60 meters off the Helambu Highway, killing the driver on the spot.

According to the District Police Office, Kavrepalanchowk, the deceased has been identified as Kisim Rai, 28, a resident of Jhagarpur, Mandandeupur-7. Police said Rai was found burnt to death while still behind the steering wheel of the tipper (Ba 5 Kha 4072).

The vehicle’s co-driver, Bikram Rai, 22, from the same ward, sustained severe burn injuries in the incident. He was immediately taken to the Burn Hospital in Kirtipur for further treatment, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rabin Bista, the spokesperson for the District Police Office.

Police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident and the subsequent fire.
