Nepali Congress Central Committee meeting continues, two proposals for 15th General Convention presented



KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) Central Committee meeting is scheduled to continue today under the leadership of acting President Purna Bahadur Khadka. The meeting will be held at the party’s central office in Sanepa at 11:30 AM.

The meeting, which began on October 14, has seen ongoing discussions among central committee members. In yesterday’s (Tuesday) session, two separate proposals regarding the date for the party’s 15th General Convention were presented.

General Secretary Gagan Thapa proposed holding the convention from December 31 to January 3, while Deputy General Secretary Mahendra Yadav suggested an alternative date from May 10 to 13.

In Tuesday’s meeting, along with Thapa and Yadav, other central committee members, including Treasurer Umesh Shrestha, and central members Krishna Prasad Sitaula, Dr. Chandrakant Bhandari, Karn Bahadur Budha, Dr. Ran Bahadur Rawal, Dilman Pakhrein, Kundan Raj Kafle, Radha Ghale, and Sharda Paudel, shared their views on the matter. Other members are expected to voice their opinions during today’s session.
