Music, not oratory, fueled People’s War preparation: Prachanda

KATHMANDU: Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, chairman of the CPN (Maoist Centre), revealed on Saturday that songs and music were more effective than speeches and theories in galvanizing support during the underground preparations for the People’s War.

Speaking at a ceremony welcoming singer Baba Pakhrin to the Maoist Centre, Dahal stated, “When we were preparing for the war underground, we used songs and music to excite the people.”

He further said “songs, music, and dance played a greater role in preparing for the People’s War than speeches, philosophy, and theoretical explanations.”

Dahal also expressed his belief that Pakhrin’s role will be crucial in the upcoming elections.

“We are now fighting the election battle, and I want to express my confidence that comrades like Baba Pakhrin will play a decisive role from this constituency,” he added.
