CIAA files corruption case against Madhav Kumar Nepal



KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against former Prime Minister and CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairperson Madhav Kumar Nepal.

CIAA spokesperson Rajendra Kumar Paudel confirmed on Thursday that the case has been registered at the Special Court.

“The file related to the corruption case has reached the Special Court,” Paudel told Khabarhub, adding, “We will be issuing a formal statement shortly.”

The case pertains to a controversial land swap involving Patanjali Ayurved, a company linked to Indian yoga guru Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna. The CIAA alleges irregularities in the allocation and exchange of land to the company during Nepal’s tenure in office.
