Moderate rain with lightning likely in several provinces



KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has stated that the western and central regions of Nepal are currently influenced by local and western winds, while monsoon winds are affecting most parts of Koshi Province.

According to the Division, skies are partly to generally cloudy across the country, with light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning occurring at one or two locations in all provinces.

This afternoon, the weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, including the hilly areas. The rest of the country will be mainly clear to partly cloudy.

There is a chance of light to moderate rain with lightning in some areas of Koshi Province, a few locations in the hilly regions of Madhes and Bagmati, and isolated spots in the rest of the country.

Light rain with snowfall is also possible in some areas of the high hills and mountainous regions.

Tonight, light to moderate rain with lightning is likely at a few places in Koshi Province and at one or two locations in the hilly areas of Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.
