Tamghas–Ridi road in Gulmi closed for one month for upgrades

GULMI: The Tamghas–Ridi section of the under-construction Madan Bhandari Highway in Gulmi district will remain completely closed for one month, starting today.

The road closure, particularly in the Thuladhunga cliff area of Rurukshetra Rural Municipality, is intended to facilitate rock blasting and road widening work, according to the Madan Bhandari Highway Project Office.

Project Chief and Engineer Ramesh Chaudhary stated that the closure will continue until Baisakh 22 (around mid-May). Although traffic will be halted on this section, alternative routes have been arranged to minimize disruptions.

Alternate routes include: Panitanki Thorga–Syalpokhari–Syal Bisona to Ratamata Road, Ridi–Chhatrakot’s Pipalneta–Digam to Ridi–Lumcha–Dharmapani–Digam to Ridi and Gulmidarbar’s Ghumti–Charpala–Khajryang to Ridi.

The project office has issued a public notice urging travelers to avoid using the Tamghas–Ridi section during this period due to potential risks to passengers and vehicles.
